Our approach
Jooni designs products and services to reduce environmental impact across the lifecycle. We build durable, energy‑efficient devices; optimize cloud resources; minimize packaging and logistics waste; and enable deployments that help customers monitor, conserve, and protect resources globally.

Our platform combines low‑power sensing, secure wireless connectivity, edge processing, and cloud analytics to make environmental data actionable. We focus on interoperability and practical tooling so customers can scale deployments and integrate with existing systems while respecting privacy and regulatory requirements.
Product design & energy efficiency
- Low‑power hardware design, duty‑cycling, sleep modes, and efficient wireless protocols to extend device life and battery runtime.
- Industrial operating ranges (e.g., ‑40 to +85 °C) and robust enclosures to reduce replacement frequency.
- Over‑the‑air (OTA) updates and backward‑compatible firmware to avoid unnecessary truck rolls and e‑waste.
- Telemetry and fleet tools that help customers optimize power usage and reduce field visits.
Materials & packaging
We prioritize recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable materials and minimize single‑use plastics. We right‑size cartons to reduce material use and transport volume and work with suppliers to label materials for local recycling streams. Manufacturing, logistics & operations
- Quality processes that increase yields and reduce scrap and rework.
- Consolidated shipping where feasible and preference for lower‑impact modes where lead times allow.
- Cloud efficiency practices (right‑sizing, autoscaling) to avoid over‑provisioning compute and storage.
- Remote‑first operations and digital documentation to reduce travel and printing.
Partnerships & standards
We collaborate with customers, suppliers, and ecosystem partners to deliver measurable outcomes. Where appropriate, we seek alignment with applicable frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to our footprint and markets. We evaluate industry guidance and standards for applicability on an as‑needed basis.
Lifecycle & circularity
- Clear lifecycle communication (GA, NRND, EOL) and PCN notices; see Product Lifecycle & PCN.
- Emphasis on drop‑in or seamless replacements to extend system life and reduce waste.
- Repair, RMA, and refurbishment options where practical; see Hardware Warranty & RMA.
- Guidance for reuse and component harvesting when devices reach end‑of‑life.
Recycling & responsible disposal

Governance & accountability
Environmental initiatives have executive sponsorship and cross‑functional ownership across product, operations, and supply chain. Objectives are considered as part of product roadmaps and supplier expectations.

Sustainable deployments
Jooni systems are used globally to help organizations reduce environmental impact—monitoring conditions, optimizing operations, and enabling data‑driven conservation. Our goal is to make it easy to deploy at scale with minimal ongoing footprint.
